Moles round the track.
Since the track tidy up day back in October, Moles had been attempting to re cover the outside lane of the track in earth. There is an old wives tail that moles have a strong sense of smell and will move away from strong fragrances. It would appear that the Guisborough Moles are immune to Peppermint, as putting peppermint oil along the side of the track has had no effect (other than leaving the remembrance of Polo Mints).
Charlie Burke suggested that Moles are sensitive to vibration, so we are now trialing children’s wind mils along half of the sprint track in an attempt to drive the velvet coated menace away. (It is not a children’s party gone wrong).
